It's that tree again from my previous blog, viewed from the opposite side, which is just a short walk from our home on the Yorkshire Wolds (Hockney country if you like). It seems an appropriate scene from which to send you all best wishes for the festive season. On a personal level, the past three years have mainly involved planning my trips and lectures in Japan. For 2026, I'm already planning a few new destinations and collaborations that I'm particularly excited about. I'm very much looking forward to sharing these journeys with you. Thank you to everyone who has followed my adventures thus far.
In further news I'm delighted to share that my monograph "Where the North Winds Blow: The Wild Purity of Unst" will be featured in Black+White Photography magazine issue #311 - available 12th February 2026. However, you can also purchase the eBook in its entirety at the link here. I am currently working on my monograph "Where Ravens Soar" which will also be available in eBook format early next year. In 2026, I will be looking to physically publish these works too, for those who have asked! Despite the more desirable and tactile nature of a physical photobook, I must stress that the eBook is actually a great way to view the photographs large scale.
Lastly, please have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy 2026. I am looking forward to meeting a few new faces, as well as catching up with more familiar ones at my upcoming winter workshops. I still have availability at all locations, so please take a look at the link here if interested!
Best wishes
Karl.
